Mmm... birthday cake remix... :)

Currently Listening to: I'm Not Dead by Pink

So I just typed up a post, then somehow it didn't publish & I lost everything. God damnit. Anyways, this is just a quick update on my life:

I moved in last Saturday & it took quite a while, but it's all good, I got done what I wanted. I really liked most of my classes, especially ASL 100 & 201. Amazing. I love having a Deaf sign lanugage professor, it's a different way to learn & I'm quite fond of it. I'm not so sure about my HEV 100H class. I feel like its going to be lame. The week was good, especially seeing all of my friends again.

Scotty boy came to visit me on Saturday morning/afternoon. :) I love that kid. We hung out, walked around campus, played pool... at some dorm food... We also watched some Margaret Cho. I love Margaret. Saturday night, I went down to Lansing with Dave, Ben & Phil for some birthdays (Phil's Sept. 2 & mine Sept. 3) and we ended up at Spiral, a fun little club there. It was good, although Phil got super drunk. I'm not gonna preach, everyone already knows how I feel about alcohol. But its okay, because I got to dance. I've only been waiting all summer to go to a club & go dancing.

Today I'm going to try to be productive... I will fail, I'm sure, but it's the thought that counts.

Onward & Upward

H'ok, so it's been a crazy two weeks, lemme tell ya. First off, I had an amazing time in Florida, saving the sea turtles. I'm gonna do a series of separate posts about that, I'll just backlog the dates for when they actually happened, so look for updates from Aug. 14 to Aug. 23.

As for today.. the day was slightly amazing. First, I woke up around 8 and did some cleaning and such, then went out to Trevor's and we hung out for a while at the water. He even made us a picnic. I pretty much have the best cousin ever. I bought him some sex wax for his jet ski, but I forgot to bring it today. That sounds wildly inappropriate... but it's not. Anyhoo, I got home around 12:30 and hung out with my mom for a bit/cleaned the house & Yukon. I also did a shit load of laundry today. I have to get ready for school, meaning pack up my car and clothing, tomorrow before I leave. That's gonna be crazy, as I intend on leaving in the morning around 10.

This afternoon, I made a birthday cake for the rents & I, as our birthdays all fall within the next week. T'was delicious. Then for dinner, Coop and I went out to Mongolian BBQ. We had a crazy fun night, it was just good hanging out before we go our separate ways. We also stopped at Jill & Jen's so I could say goodbye real quick the the favorite aunts. Phillip was there too, so that was cool. I have to get to the Nana's tomorrow morning before I leave for school. Anyhoo, Coop came back to my house for a little bit, then we had to say goodbye. It was a lot different from last year, as we only hung out a little bit at the end of last summer, this summer we were inseperable. It was sad, but I didn't cry! Yeah, I'm awesome, I know. Now I'm laying in bed trying to put off sleep for a little longer. It's not gonna work, I must sleep and I must sleep NOW.

Oh, here's a sweet picture that I took in Florida:

That's a baby loggerhead turtle :)

Florida, Day 6

Well, this morning, I apparently opened my eyes & stretched when someone "woke" me up, but in reality, I was still sleeping. You see, I do this thing where I sleep with my eyes open. Freaky. Someone took a picture & I'll upload it once I get a copy, apparently it's pretty funny. Today was a pretty quick day, we found 11 turtles and then went to Juno Marinelife Center. We got a tour of the new facility, which is very impressive indeed. After Juno, we went to this lighthouse, which was scary, if I do say so myself.

But that may be because I like neither heights, nor rickety stairs. The view from the top was pretty sweet though. In this pic, the little outdoor patio thing at that restaurant is where the video for Jimmy Buffet's "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere" was taped:

Oh, and one more awesome thing from the Lighthouse place was this tree outside, called the Banyon Tree:

Oh oh oh! Another sweet thing I got to do today was interpret French. There was a lady walking the beach and she was curious about what we were doing & she was from France. She came up to the group & started speaking French & I responded... the entire group balked for a second. It was sweet. Had to be the first time I spoke French in almost a year, so of course I sucked, but it was cool.

Florida, Day 5

This morning, just like every other damn morning, we woke up @ 5:15 and were at the beach by 6:30. We found 4 disoriented baby turtles before we even got up to the shoreline, then we had the most amazing discovery, a Leatherback nest. Leatherbacks are by far the most endangered of the species that we were dealing with. They had laid less than ten nests on that stretch of beach, as opposed to the hundreds of Loggerhead & Green nests. As soon as we found that nest, we knew something was wrong though, none of the turtles were moving. We did find three alive, but the nest hatched when it was hot out & they were exposed to the sun for too long. :(. Sidenote on Leatherbacks, they are soooo big when they mature, one was found on the coast of Maine & it was the size of a Volkswagon Beetle.
.
Here's the Leatherback turtle nest that died, but 3 of those turtes made it & we took them over to the Juno Marinelife Center.

After lunch @ MacArthur, the guys from the Florida Parks Service took us on a boat ride on the Intercoastal Water Way to get to Munyon Island to pick up trash. Unfortunately, the tide was too low, so we had to go on a pontoon ride for almost an hour. Damn. ;). We saw some amazing stuff, primarily a family of wild bottlenose dolphins. It was flippin' sweet. We also saw some famous stuff, like Kate Winslett's house and Tiger Wood's yacht. Here's a sign that was to be taken completely seriously:

I think that's pretty much amazing. Here's another photo, I stole this one from Katie:

That one was more amazing though. Riding around on that pontoon was so much fun & being with the group like that, just hanging out, was a lot of fun. I'll post another picture of the whole group on the pontoon, as I think I can only put 3 on each post. After the awesome boat ride, we went to Munyon Island and picked up trash for about 20 minutes and I saw real hermet crabs... they were huge. I think they were in conch shells, it was so cool... and kinda scary.

After MacArthur, we went back to the church and showered & hung out, then we got to go to Debbie's for dinner. She's an amazing cook, it was delicious. We also got our shirts, which wre beautiful, with little Leatherbacks on them. I got one for my mom too. We got back to the church after eleven, had reflection, then went to bed. AWESOME day.

Florida, Day 4

Today we got up around five... this seems like a trend, does it not? Anyhoo, we went to the beach but had to wait until about 7 to go out, as there was a small storm over the water. We found one nest when we got there & there was only one hatchling in it, so that's a good sign. Quite soon after we found that nest, we found a nest that was on the verge of emerging, so we waited & helped them along, there were 91 in that nest alone, it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. After the emergence, we took a swim break. After that, we found another nest with a few turtles left in it and a family came up to talk to us, curious as to what we were doing. One of the cooler things on this trip was that Katie & I were able to answer all of the family's questions.

Click To Play
After we got done @ the beach, we went to Juno Marine Life Center and had lunch. We got a mediocre tour of the place, but they thought we were coming on another day, which I don't believe, so there wasn't much work for us to do. I did get to clean out a Kemp's Ridley tank. That was flippin' sweet. Then we went inside with the rest of our group and incured the wrath of Jessica, the girl that worked there. She was a bitch. Then we went outside to collect some trash off the beach. Ironically, I found a piece of wood with a rusty nail in it... and I wanted to hit her in the face with it. But I didn't. But I wanted to. We had a very short day, we were back @ the church by 2:45, so we showered and ate dinner. Ashley got the genuis idea to play mafia, which no one else knew how to play except me, so we pretty much got everyone hooked on it. The hardest part is narrating and not being able to think of interesting ways to die.

Florida, Day 3

This is the first morning on the beach, we had to get up at an awesome 5:15 in the morning. That's shitty if I do say so myself. But somehow we all managed and it was a pretty sweet day. We were on the beach by six am and we met Debbie Sobel, the turtle lady. She seems super passionate about her turtles. Anyways, we found a nest with about 8 live turtles in it that were left behind from the night before and made sure that they got into the water alright.

(Ashley, Liz, Kristen, Mandy, Melissa... ? unknown person's arm)
I'm pretty sure that that's not my hand holding the turtle. Anyways, we got to have a few swim breaks along the 2.5 miles that we walked, which was pretty cool, as I haven't been in the ocean for years. We also found a few nests that were laid the night before by both Green & Leatherback turtles. That was pretty sweet, as the turtles tracks are plainly visible from the shore.

Around lunchtime, we went to MacArthur State Park and ate our lunches, followed by the cleaning up of exotic plants. We were supposed to be going to Munyon Island to clean up these plants, but the weather was not boat permitting. These plants looked like carrots, but they were stringy like coconuts. So not really anything like carrots. We also watched a film on MacArthur State Park, but everyone was pretty much dead and fell asleep during it. After that, we went to the church & showered, then a few of us went to the store to get random stuff. I had to get a new satchel to carry on the beach, as my old one kinda ripped right in half.

Florida, Day 2

This morning I drove from 2 am til' six. Atlanta is sweet when there's no one awake, otherwise is slightly shady. I'm pretty sure I slept for a good few hours after my driving shift. We got to the First Presbyterian Church around 4 in the afternoon, so 11 of us somehow managed to shower after being awake for about 25 minutes. Needless to say there were a few naps. We hung around the church campus for a few hours, then went to a Pizzeria for dinner... not good times. Well, the pizza was okay, but they gave us dirty silverware. And they had the Spanish channel on... muted. But it was fun to try and read lips in Spanish, our table made up some flippin' sweet story lines.

Florida, Day 1

I got to Mt. Pleasant around 1:00 pm and went to have lunch with the Philf. The Alt. Summer Break group assembled & we left around 2:30. I wound up in a van with Melissa, Katie, Shelley, Liz & Nick. I'm pretty sure our van was SILENT for a good few hours, I read some of my book then fell asleep to my mp3 player. I drive at 2:00am, right through Atlanta, Georgia. I get to stop somewhere around 6 in the mornin'.

So, tomorrow I'm leaving for Florida. Woot. Saving the seaturtles is just a day away. I'm pumped. Sadly, this trip brings my summer to its end, as I'll be coming home from Florida on Wednesday the 23 & leaving for school on either Thursday or Friday. :( So as much as I've been looking forward to it, I've not been, because that means no more summer. Here's a sweet pic with my girls:

Pretty sure that's the last time we got to hang out, just the four of us, for the summer. But it was a nice, relaxed night & it was fun b/c thats what we do. See... all we need is for Coop to go to CMU & we'd be set ;). Oh, and one of my legs is more tan than the other, see if you can spot it. Ten points to anyone who can. And no, I'm not trying to grab anything naughty in the pic.

I'm about halfway packed for school, I'm taking about 1/3 the stuff I did last year, so it should be sweet. Hopefully the new roommates will be cool.

So, today I went shopping with the mum in the morning, got a refridgerator, then came home & packed a little, then I don't what for a little. Around 5, Coop came over & watched me pack, then I went out to Coldstone w/ Scotty boy. I think he's gonna come visit me around Labor Day. Woot! I love that kid. Tomorrow I'm going to go shopping early in the mornin', then I'm off to CMU. Maybe I'll see Phil & Dave for a little bit before I leave for Florida. Maybe.

Ok, I'm off to bed. I'll be back online to post about the Alt. Break on Wednesday or Thursday! Laters.

Vicodin strikes.

Ok, so I'm loving this pattern of taking vicodin, then going to sleep. There are a few awkward consequences to it though, my fore arms fall asleep and I partially lose the abliity to hear, but otherwise, I'm good. I had a really good experience at the oral surgeon today, I took an oral sedative, then when I got there, they put me on some nitrous oxide. They put the IV in and it didn't even hurt, I think I was asleep before they even gave me the sleep drugs, as they were using it as a port for putting in other drugs first. And my male nurse was cute. I definitely slept until about 5:30 today, then Cat came over for a visit & ended up eating Mac & Cheese with me. Damn family size boxes are ridiculous. Oh, and apparently I was signing this morning while I was higher than an kite on my drugs, after the surgury. I'm sweet. I've been up for a few hours, so I think I'm gonna go to bed pretty soon. Woot.

I'm sweating like its my job

H'ok, so... It is super hot out today. End of story. I'm laying in bed, sweating for no reason. Amazing. I think I'm gonna go sleep in the sunporch. The last few days have been okay, nothing too exciting that I can think of. I did pass out while trying to watch Super Troopers for the second time.

Oh and Steph got into a fight with a swan. I took video... Because I'm a bad lifeguard... Don't show this to my boss... I'm warning you.

So... I've worked this out in my head, my next 3 weeks are super effed up. Friday I get my wisdom teeth removed. That means I'm out of commission for the weekend. I was supposed to go to CMU on Wednesday, but I'm not. The following weekend I leave for Florida and come back the Monday after that, which is the 21st I think. Then I go back to school around the 24th. Hmm. I wanna go back, but I'm almost enjoying hanging out w/ my friends @ home.

Okkkk... I'm gonna go to bed now, I have to get a front end alignment tomorrow... Laters.

I'm a dick, I'm addicted to you

Currently listening to: The gentle hum of haunted laundry

I finally got my lifeguard shirts... 3 weeks before I'm finished for the summer. Whatev, they're sweet.

Yesterday:
I went to work around 9:30 & got home around 8:00. Steph climbed onto a barge. Watched Dogma with Steph. Kinda fell asleep during Dogma. I officially hate one of the Rec kids for messing with Donny.

Today:

Shitty day @ Rec. Worked from 9 to 3:45. Went home, vacuumed. Went to work @ the Village. I didn't know that we were having a resident/family picnic. We barbecued our asses off. I ran into Briton @ the Village, he's one of the Police Cadets. Good kid. After work, I went to the gym & ellipticalled away all of my stress. Haha. That was a lie.

Working @ the beach tomorrow from 10 to 4, then the village from 4:30 to 8.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOTTY BOY!!!!!

I yelled myself hoarse

Cedar Point was a blast, I totally love Scott & Dana. I'm not gonna go into it b/c it'll be boring, but I did go on the Rip Cord & it was flippin' sweet. Thought I was gonna die. Like whoa. The drive there was 4 hours & the drive back was 4 hours. Should've been 2.5 hours each way... but whatev.

Happy Birthday Catherine Trombly!!!

I found a quote that I really like:

Friends are the family we chose ourselves.

It'd be sweet if it actually worked out like that, but I'm sure it doesn't. Friends can stop being friends. Family never goes away, no matter how hard you try. Damn. Too bad its not the other way around.

So bear with me, I've been uber depressed all summer. I'm lame. I need to dial down the emo... STAT.

I found a sweeter quote:

Friends are like the colors of the rainbow, unique and brilliant alone, but perfect and awesome when together.

That totally describes my group of friends. Like to a fucking T. Woot. I think I'm bipolar. Oh snap.

Dear Diary, Mood: Apathetic

H'ok, so this is gonna be a super short post, I have to go to work in about 20 minutes. Lame. Anyhoo, I got that foreign piece of metal removed from my head yesterday morning. The Dr. numbed half of my head, which hurt like a bitch, whatever he put in there to numb it felt like it was on fire. The whole procedure took about 30 minutes, as scar tissue had grown around it. The verdict? An earring backing somehow managed to get stuck on my head, next to my ear and without warning, was swallowed by my body. And apparently, it had been in there for about 10 years. Weird. I kept it in a little vial. Bahaha. Today is going to suck, I go from Rec to lifeguarding to teaching ASL to the Village. No breaks. Whatev, I'm a big kid. And tomorrow will more than make up for it, as I'm going to CEDAR POINT! Woot. I'm pumped.

Ok, leave me some lovin'.

Come A Little Closer Baby...

Today was the longest day ever. End of sentence. Last night Coop & I went to Aunt Jill's 22nd of July party for a few hours, I got to chill with some of the illegitimate cousins & one actual cousin. You don't know how crazy your family is until you show someone else though, holy hell. Not naming any names though...

Today was the day from hell... I woke up after about 4 hours of sleep, then I had to go to the Village. I was main waitress, so I had to dress up... I wore soccer socks just to be a rebel. Then I went home, changed & went straight to the lake. I even got there on time. Lifeguarded for 3 hours, came home & passed out. Then I woke up @ 9:45 ish. Now I'm here. Dang. And I have a super headache.

Tomorrow I'm getting a minor surgery to remove the metal from my head. That makes me sound crazy. After that I'm going to work. Only 1 week left at the Village. I'm pumped. Oh & I'm going to Cedar Point on WEDNESDAY!!!!! I haven't been there since the end of 10th grade. Should be super, I'm going with Dana, Scott & little Paul. Woot. & I'm going on the Rip Cord. So watch while I die.

Ok, so I have to go to bed now. Bah.

Snap snap snap your fingers for me...

I just wrote an entire post and then the computer froze. Lame. Look's like I have to start over.

Currently listening to: Emo Kid by Adam & Andrew

So I can't remember what I posted at all. Ok, I remember a little bit. So the other day I drove out to Royal Oak and saw Jenny & Phil. That was awesome, I missed them so much. We went to a bar called Pronto for a minute, but it was kinda low key, so we left & hung around downtown for a bit. Good times.

Today after the gym, Coop, Steph & I went to Meijer and ended up doing a science experiment in the parking lot. It was flippin' sweet. We took a 2 liter (2 actually) and a box of mentos and made the world explode. If you put Mentos into pop, especially diet pop, the pop will shoot out of the bottle like whoa. Time's like that make me sad about going back to school, just hanging out with my friends being douchebags. But I'm still looking forward to going back.

Speaking of douchebags: So I work with someone who shall remain nameless. She was homeschooled & is now about 22. She has absolutely no social training under her belt, let me tell you. The other day I called some guy a douchebag & she said: "What does that mean, I've heard people say that before... Is it German?" No, its not German, its a douche bag! First of all, douche is French for shower, second of all... ew. Everyone knows what a douche is. God damn. So I made fun of her all day. She still has no idea what a douchebag is. That's sad.

I've been working a lot lately, so blame that for my ridiculous amount of time in between posts. I'm working at the beach from 10 till 4 tomorrow, so everyone in the greater Detroit area should visit. Including you. Then I have to work at the Village, THEN I'm going to Aunt Jill's 22nd of July party... Should be fun times.

Ok, I'm super tired, I'm gonna go to bed. I must be emo.

A nice brawl never hurt anyone...

H'okay, so... basically, I kicked Cooper's ass... well, I kicked her in the shin really hard anyways. We were @ the beach with Steph and she was having a lovely time of guarding, so we decided it would be a good idea to push Cooper into the lake. And it was. It turned into about a half an hour of Coop & I greco roman style grappling. Hmm... saucy. It was actually surprisingly fun. Anyhoo, went to the gym, kinda worked out. I ran exaclty .1 miles on a treadmill today, then I said "oh fuck that" and got on the elliptical. Good times. I blame it on my shoes, K-Swiss are not meant for running. Whatev.

I've decided that I should get into the habit of regularly updating this here blog, so here we go. Today we took the kids to the Detroit Science Center. It was enough to make me hate the Detroit Science Center. I thought I had gotten a good group, only 4 kids, because they were the older kids and really didn't need any supervision. Wrong. They were the whiniest kids of all, they were complaining the entire time. Finally, around lunch, I dumped them off on someone else and took a few 8 year old boys, who are much better.

I lost a Vicodin at the beach today. Whoops. Those things are brutal, I was given a prescription for 30 & I've used 3... that's all I'll need too. Someone thinks I'm gonna get addicted... Jeez Christ. I'm still on a liquid/soft food diet. :(. I should be done w/ that by Saturday, in time for the Rocky Party. I'm looking forward to seeing my good friend, Mr. Anderson this Saturday. Woot.

I love me some nitrous oxide...

So today Coop took me to the oral surgeon so that I could get my tooth extracted. I definitely got some nitrous oxide & was high as a kite for a little bit of time. I felt a little strange, to say the least. So... I've decided that I don't like the ASL class that I teach, primarily because a few of the kids just do not want to be there. It's super. But there are a few kids there that actually want to learn, so that's fun. I learned the sign for chocolate today. I'm pumped.

We're taking the kids to the Detroit Sciece Center tomorrow... I'm kinda excited, not gonna lie.

Ok, well I'm off to Coldstone b/c I'm living under the illusion that it'll make my mouth feel better :).

I guess its time to update again...

Currently listening to: Crazy by Gnarls Barkley

So I guess I haven't updated in a while. I've been slightly busy working my life away at the beach & the village. Other than that I've been going to the gym with Coop & sleeping. Boring, no? Well atleast I'm having some fun. The summer is actually going pretty well, I've sorta become the ASL go to person for New Baltimore, Kasy told a family with a deaf little boy about me & they seem to want me to help them, which I don't know if I can or not, but it's exciting all the same. I've also been talking a lot with the two deaf ladies that work at VG's and the lady at the village. It's good fun.

I've recently become obsessed with my parents Tivo. Hmm... I figured out how to send stuff that I've recorded from the Tivo to my computer. Oh snap. I'm ridiculous, I know.

Alright, I have to get to sleep, I have to work all damn day tomorrow. Peace out.

The Steroid Sock

Okay, so tonight we had the much anticipated Bay Rama Fishfly Festival fireworks! Woot. I love fireworks, I swear, I'm really like 4 years old on the inside. Oh, the other day, I went to the doctor's office to get all of my prescriptions renewed, and to get a new one... or two... I wound up with five all together. I finally got something that should clear up the crazy eczema on my hands and feet. So now I can say that I'm on steriods. Scary. Anyhoo, I'm supposed to use the super strength steriods only on one of my feet, as only one of them is threatening to fall off. This does pose a problem, as I don't want to go barefoot once I have my steroids on... who knows what it can do to my bed... and if it touches any other part of my skin, it could cause stretch marks. And I don't want to ruin a pair of socks, by having one laced in steroid cream twice a day for a few days, so I came up with a solution. I went in my dresser drawer to find an unmatched sock, and would you believe it, I did! This pink and white sock is duely named... the steroid sock. Awkward. I don't believe that I've ever only put on one sock and kept it that way before. Hmm. Okay, so I have some issues.

So I got a fish about a week ago. I've decided to name him Pierre. He's a red Beta. Love it. Oh! I found some 100 percent pomegranate juice at Kroger today. It's as good as POM, but its at a much better price. While I want to be loyal to POM, I can't afford it.

I just figured out how to do a screen capture on my computer. I'm lame. But now I'm kinda excited.

OH oh oh oh oh oh! I never did do an update regarding IKEA. Well, I went with Coop last week (I think it was last week anyways, everything is running together) and it was amazing. Absofuckinglutely amazing. I was way too excited. There were so many things I wanted to buy, but I ended up buying a hot pink lamp and a pillowcase for an awkwardly shaped pillow I have. It's good.

I think I need to change back to my Volcom purse, this one that I bought at Target is too big and I can never find my cell phone when it rings. AND it sorta ripped on the inside, so stuff gets stuck in the lining. Whatev.

So here are the things I need to do asap:

-Change the music on my mp3 player
-Call Jill to see when the party is
-Plan a Rocky party
-Finish cleaning my room
-Did I say finish cleaning my room?
-Sell back some books
-Go to bed

Oh, and anyone interested in a Rocky party should get a hold of me, because I need to find a date that will work. I've been getting a lot of people asking about one though, so woot! Leave me some supa love.

So I haven't done a real post in a while

Ok, so I started this post about 1 1/2 hour ago... then I got side tracked. Nice. So lately I've been working a lot at the Village & working out @ Powerhouse with Coop. I love me some elliptical. Oh, I ran into Carrie Berglud the other day, that was pretty cool, as I haven't seen her since I was about 10 years old.

This past week has been eventful, I've worked a total of 38 hours since Thursday... so when I say eventful, I mean long. But same thing right? Anyways, I'm totally getting sick of one of my supervisors, who will remain nameless, incase he google's his name or something. He completely bitched at me all night last night for random shit, then accused Scott and I of being too happy, saying that he got a complaint from a resident. What the hell is that? We just like to have fun at work, its not like we're inappropriate within earshot of the residents. Then when we were cleaning up the dishroom, he yelled @ me for getting the clean floors wet, because, you know, water doesn't evaporate, then he accused me of trying to hide the dirty-ness of the sink drain under a bus tub. I will have you know that I've been doing my job for more than 2 years and I know how to clean a fucking sink. Oh, and he said it really smartassed too, like I was trying to pull the wool over his eyes. Maybe if he had opened them, he would have realized that I wasn't even finished cleaning my area yet. Gah. Oh, the angry feelings.

Today was much less eventful, I was just on salads. I made some jello & pudding. Sweet. Then after work, I came home and sat on a chair and fell asleep for about 2 hours... and drooled on the chair. Amazing. Then Coop came over & we went to the park. We ended up sitting under the pavillion because that was the only place that the fishflies weren't wreaking havoc on. They're like locusts, causing great destruction in their path. I will take some pictures this year, so that people who aren't from the New Baltimore area can see just what they do to the downtown area. They only live for 24 hours in their adult stage, and in that 24 hours, they enjoy attaching themselves to buildings. If you leave your lights on at night, your house will be covered in them the next day. I wish I would have brought my camera to the park today, it was ridiculous, the are was thick with them. Oh, and if you happen to drive through a pile of them on the road, your car will slide. And when they're stepped on/driven over, they POP. But the best part is the smell, by far. This little beasts smell like fish. Shocker, right? Yeah, they make the city stink of fish. So why do we have a festival celebrating them? I guess the world will never know.

Oh, back to today, Coop & I went to the park, then after we were in the pavillion for a while, it started to down pour like whoa. Then the thunder & lightening came. Too bad I didn't have the key for the enclosed pavillion with me, that could have been handy. So we went over to the enclosed pavillion anyways, and on the way there, we got completely drenched. Then my dad called all worried & he came to pick us up. Sweet. So we sat @ home and made fun of people's myspace pictures. What a day. Now I'm off to bed.

So I've gone into a fit of organizing my bedroom... finally. It's good fun. Eh. I still can't stop watching The OC. Why is that show so addicting? It's not like it's anything like my life is or ever will be. Whatev.

I'm outtie for now. Laters.

So, I'm procrastinating. I wanna straighten my room. But I'm in bed.

I talked Coop into going to the gym with me @ 8:00... in the morning. Did I mention morning? Well...damn, I don't have time during the rest of the day to go, I start working @ the Rec tomorrow at 10:00, then I have school @ 6:00. Hmm. It's gonna be a long summer.

Anyhoo, I went over to Steph's today & we went swimming. Sweet. I almost got some color. But not really. I'll probably be bright red tomorrow.

Okay, I need to go to sleep now, waking up in 6.5 hours.

I just wanted to plug Pink's song "Dear Mr. President" because I just heard it and I love it. Very anti-Bush, so don't listen if you like him... Actually, do listen if you like him. Here's a video of the song being performed as well. Later.

So I'm currently obsessed with going to Barnes & Noble before class to read for an hour. Love it. It's like an overpriced, loud library. But whatever, they have more books that are suited to my tastes, ie, contemporary non-fiction. I just started Betty DeGeneres's (Ellen's mom) book, as I didn't know what to read & I, like most people, like me some Ellen. No, still not gay. Anyways, its a really good book so far, pretty much about Betty's life, not just Ellen-centric.

I had an exam in polysci today. Wasn't too bad, but I'm sure I didn't get an A, as I completely bs-ed the essay. But I need exactly a C- to get the credit in the class, as the grade doesn't transfer, so I'm not putting any extra effort into it, as I have better things to do with my life, ie... live it. Pretty sure I got drunk dialed last night. Good times.

I'm looking forward to putting some money in the bank. Fucking bills suck. Oh, and my cell phone completely and utterly died the other day, so I had to get a "refurbished one" from the Verizon store, but luckily, my parents paid for it because it was only $50. I got lucky, seemingly everything is going wrong right now & I end up having to pay. One of the spokes in my bike tire broke and the entire rim bent and now my dad is making me wear a HELMET because he wants everyone to make fun of me. It's not like I've fallen off my bike in the last, I don't know, ten years. But I say that now, and one day I'll be saved by a helmet, you watch. Gah.

Okay, going to bed now. Tired as all heck and I have to wake up in approximately 5 hours for the Village. Laters.

H'okay, so... today after class, I set up a wireless router in the 'rent's house. It's pretty sweet, as I am laying in bed whilst typing this update. Woot. Anyhoo, several cool things are going on lately. First, I only have 8 more political science classes left. Second, I we're getting a Tivo. Third, IKEA opens next Wednesday. I'm pumped.

Memorial Day was okay, I was on salads at work, which was the easiest God damn thing I have ever done. Then I came home & fell asleep for a bit, then Jake came over for a family BBQ. Nice. More like dad was outside, grilling steaks for he, mom & Jake, and me warming up some chicken, as I don't get along well with beef. But it was the thought that counted, right?

Today, I had a day off of sorts, until I left for school. Fun. I bought a pair of shoes for 10 dollars first. Woot. And they're pink. Then I went to Poly Sci & lied to my teacher so I could get out early. It worked, I got home around nine. Sadly, I got called in to work because we are uber short, so I have to be awake at 5:3o tomorrow. So I guess that means bed.

H'okay, so... I've been über busy lately, pretty much working all the time. It blows. But whatever, I'm making money. Life is okay, had some bull shit happen, but its all good now. I'm finally almost finished with getting my room back in order from school, I never should have brought everything with me. Whatev. I saw Allison Deeb last week, for the first time since graduation, which was cool. Also saw Steph & Andy.

I started my Political Science class yesterday. It's a yawn, but the professor is pretty cool. Too bad his subject sucks. Only 13 or 14 more classes. Woot. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to take the art class that I was intending on taking later in the summer. I'm kinda leaning towards no. But I don't know. I wish I could have gotten into an online class or two. But what's done is what's done I guess. I'm gonna check Macomb's website real quick, maybe someone dropped out. Gah. I can't get into any classes. Fuckers.

Well, I'm gonna go be productive now. Laters.

Friday I kinda just chilled out and attempted to get my laundry started. Then I got lazy and took a nap. I worked Saturday and today. Bah. I did a whole lot of laundry today. That's about it. Oh, and I took a nap. Apparently I've learned how to nap. Shock me.

My dad insists on watching Van Helsing right now. I hate that movie. It's lame. Although... Hugh Jackman is a hot hot man. Super hot. So is Tom Collins (Jesse L. Martin) from RENT. Hot.

H'okay so here's the fucking weekend. Dang, that is a sweet weekend you might say. Long. I'm tired still. I got approximately 6 hours of sleep. All weekend. Sweet. I'm still tired. I need a venti heroin mocha latte like now. It was chock full of drama, but whatever. So. We had to be room monitors for the entire weekend, which meant being the judges bitch. Good fun.

Oh, so we went out to the club Backstreet in Dearborn and it was a lot of fun. Ran into a guy from high school there. Lil bit awkward. I hate when people spell awkward wrong. One time, someone wrote the word awkward in my yearbook and spelled it wrong. Now its there forever. She spelled it "Aquard". I wish it was okay to go back and change the spelling for her, but that's pretty lame. What kind of loser fixes someones spelling in their own yearbook. Lame.

I just google searched shpank. Wow. And the sleeves of my shirt are really large.

Go here. Type naughty things.

Where's My Kevlar Vest?

H'ok, so I won't be updating for a few days, I'm going to Detroit for the weekend for an American Guild of Music fundraiser thang.

Real quick, I got to my car yesterday, because I was going to drive around and do errands, and it had another flat tire. Jesus fucking Christ that's annoying. But whatever, I got this little air compressor and its all sweet and stuff. Oh, and I got myself a $10 purse because I earned it.

The Yellowcard concert totally kicked ass, although I wish I could have gone to the last GSA meeting of the semseter. I ended up setting up for the Virgin Records Megatour Village in the morning, when I couldn't talk and some guy felt sorry for me because he thought I was deaf or something, so he gave me a bunch of gum. It was funny. I'm chewing it right now. Calm down, its not like it was date rape gum, it was this promotional Dentyne stuff that they were giving out. I also scored 3 CDs which I will listen to at my earliest convenience. Woot.

My goldfish died the other day, so now I only have the ugly little silver one left. Pretty sure he's gonna die while I'm gone. But whatever, I don't love him, I only loved the pretty one.

Okay, it's time to go now, I'll be back Sunday afternoon/night. Muah.

So... in GSA, we're playing Assassins. I love it. So far I've killed: Char, Robert, Dave, Michael, Megan, Ben & Jayme. I dominate. I actually killed Jayme twice, but the first time didn't count because it was her office hours. Then Cat & I staked her out in the cafeteria, I pretended to leave, then went back in & we sat at different tables, Cat at one where she could see if the knife was in her hand or not. As soon as she put it down, Cat was like "SHE PUT IT DOWN, SHE PUT IT DOWN" so I hauled ass over there and poked her. Woot.

I think I want to start an Assassins game in Larzy for next year, it would be uberous amounts of fun. Hmm... I'm sweet like that.

I had such a good time last night, it was so much fun. First, we went to "The Zoo" in K-zoo. Just a wee bit seedy. Then we went to Diversions in Grand Rapids. We danced and danced and sang and drove. Woot. I love road trips. We also played a few ridiculous car games, such as Sam, Jenny, Phil & Ben trivia and the Charlie Rose game. Good stuff. Then we planned our dream weddings. So... around 10:00 pm last night, Jayme & I went to Kaya to do homework, where we ran into Jay... thus not much homework got done, atleast on my part. I had a Fuze... which was delicious and only 10 calories for an entire bottle. Yummy. Then we went to Campbell Hall front desk, as the lovely Phil was working. I think we stayed there until about 3:30. Somehow we ended up at Lil Chef and I had so much coffee. Wow. So of course I was giddy as all hell. Jenny read some stories that she had written, which were effing hilarious. Woot for short stories. I finally got back to the dorm around 7:30 and fell asleep at about 8:00. Then my body decided that I'm not allowed to sleep when I'm on caffeine overload. I woke up every hour, finally staying awake at eleven. So now I'm totally wired.

In other news, my fish are still alive and I think I want to get a livejournal. Everyone is on livejournal & I would definitely get more readership. Hmm. Maybe I'll just duplicate this blog on Lj. I just don't know.

Oh, we got a new movie channel up here, which is kinda cool, as Madagascar is on it. Woot. It's channel 35 by the way. Very interesting, indeed.

So I've been uber busy for the last few days... actually the last 5 days. I can't really say what I've been doing because I do not remember, but it's been a lot. On Tuesday, I went to the John Corvino & Glenn Stanton debate, then we went to dinner with them afterwards. It was good fun. Oh, and the "Asian Chicken Salad" joke from Margaret Cho came up, as someone at the table ordered Asian chicken salad... everyone looked at Jenny and asked if she wanted "chicken salad"... apparently Asian Chicken Salad is not the salad of her people. Whatev.

Damn... I'm on a Mac & I can't do hyperlinks again... I'll do them later.

Yesterday was a long day. Steph came up & stayed last night. Good fun. We watched Margaret Cho: Revolutions. Sweet. I passed out just after persimmons.

This morning I had breakfast with the lovely Jayme. Congrats on Secretary/Treasurer. Woot. I had a delicious bagel this morning, then I went to Nutrition. The professor decided that we can come next Tuesday and take the exam or skip that class and take the exam during exam week. I think I'm going to go ahead and do it this Tuesday, just to get it out of the way. I've got a lot to do today... ASL in about 10 minutes, then I'm going to the SAC while simultaneously studying for Spanish, then I'm coming back and doing homework. I'm doing homework for a very long time today. Thou shalt not sleep.

I need to repaint my fingernails. Like whoa. Oh & this weekend looks like its gonna be long as well. I don't have much to do on Friday, besides pack up whatever else I can, but dad is coming up on Saturday morning @ 8:00 am. Bah. Fixing the car & taking home the futon among other things. Thanks dad. Well, yesterday didn't turn out like I planned, but it was awesome. Around 5, Jenny came & kidnapped Ben & I and we went to a new coffee shop called Fifi's French Press. It's very La Vie Boheme meets Paris. Loves it. We ran around downtown Mount Pleasant for a few hours, then went to see
Scary Movie 4 at 9:10. It was surprisingly funny. Somehow we ended up at Phil & Aaron's and decided to dye Easter Eggs and make a creepy hand out of wax. Fast forward to 5:00am when I got back to my dorm. Let's just say I fell asleep quickly. Now I want to watch A League of Their Own real bad. I've got the song that the team sings completely stuck in my head.

H'ok, so... here's today: Well, I woke up around 12:00 and went down to brunch. I ran into Bob Lewan and we ate together. He's seems pretty cool. Around 1:20, Jason & Becky got here and we left. Oh, and Jason got me a kit for my car that includes jumper cables. Woot. We got to the riding stables about an hour and a half later. Sweet. I looked like a cowgirl today too, braided pig tails and all. I rode the horse named "Milo". He was pretty good. I wish we had gotten to ride more though. Then we went back to Becky's parents' house and had a nice dinner. I got back to the dorm around 8:00. Bedtime.

I've decided to start a new blog, but this one is more about current news events and such. It's called Why The French Hate Us. I've only done one post so far, but I'll begin on it soon. I think I need to make an edgy new background & layout for it. Hmm... I'm thinking some neutral colors... and hot pink. Hmm... maybe I'll add a tagboard & stuff. I don't know. I don't need a new project for myself, but I do love being busy.

Today I think I'm gonna go out with Benjamin to Kaya... should be fun.

Anthony Rapp Coming To SVSU!

Currently watching: Degrassi ... Oooooh its good

Today was a very nice and relaxing day. I got up around 10:00 and had breakfast with Lia & Amanda, then went to Nutrition to turn in my project. Then the professor turned on Super Size Me, which I have been wanting to see forever. Woot. Then I went to ASL. It was wonderful as always. I wish that people here knew sign language so that I could practice more. Around 3:00 I went to Kaya with Jayme and I got to do math. Not gonna lie, I was way too excited. I get some kind of unnatural high off of algebra. Then Benjamin came over and I yet again did his faux hawk. I'm becoming something of a hair dresser. Love it. Oh, and Jayme gave me this awesome stuff to use to make the faux hawks better. Woot.

Went to dinner, then went to class for a while. My teacher's assistant was wearing the most ridiculous hat. It was a pink John Deere hat. Utterly ridiculous. Whoa. My fish won't stop pooping in their "tank", there are fish turds lining the bottom & I already changed their water once today. Anyhoo, Ben & I went back to Kaya, then Phil & Aaron kidnapped us to go to Tim Ho-nuts... I mean Tim Hortons. I got really naseous around this time. I just got back from Phil & Aaron's & it's 2:30. Good times.

I heard that Anthony Rapp (Mark from RENT) is coming to Saginaw Valley State University on Monday, April 17 @ 7:00 to give the keynote speech about the AIDS Quilt that is travelling the country. I really want to go, like nobody's business. If anyone wants to go & preferably can help with getting a ride, let's do this!

Oh, and I don't think that I mentioned this before, but Paul Wesselmann is an excellent speaker, so if you ever get the chance to see him, do it. While we're on the topic of speakers, last night after the OGLP banquet, Ben & I went to check out the speaker that was at Plachta, Morris Dees. The NSM (National Socialist Movement) was protesting him. Yeah, they're the skinheads. Want to know how to freak me out? Yell mean things and protest against everything good. And be jerks.

I'm totally looking forward to horseback riding on Saturday! Woot! Now I'm off to watch RENT.

Hop The Border

So, what the hell is going on in this country? Yeah, I don't know either. I do know that I heard something absurd the other day. There's this whole deal going on about immigrants getting a guest worker permit so that they can work towards their citizenship. I can't seem to wrap my head around this issue. Why would anyone want to deny someone the right to come into this country, one that is clearly having issues with it's leadership, might I add. It seems to me that the borders should be open to anyone that may want to enter. What I find completely perplexing is that this country is chock full of immigrants. No one who is fighting against these immigrants has any right to, as it is quite likely that their families came here no more than a few hundred years ago. The only people that could possibly have an issue with this would be the Native American's, who the United States clearly could give a shit about anyways, as we've never asked their opinions before.

If someone could give a valid argument about why we should close our doors to immigrants, please let me know, as I cannot seem to. Just remember, you wouldn't be here if it weren't for immigrants. Gah.

I think we should all try to immigrate to Mexico, just to confuse everyone. Meet at my place at 9:00 & we'll take a caravan.

This week has been a blur of craziness. Monday I did a workshop, so I had to skip my Gerontology class. Good thing I worked it out with my professor first. I've been having some long days, let me tell you, I can barely distinguish between Monday and Tuesday and now it's already Wednesday. I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I'm going horseback riding with Jason & Becky on Saturday, then I think we're going to Becky's parent's house for dinner. Woot. I seriously need some downtime with my brother, life is just getting too hectic and I'm having a hard time dealing with people. Although I do thrive on being busy all the time, right now I feel like I have no support and thus I feel like hell about everything that I do. Don't I just sound like miss drama queen? Yeah, well whatever. I've earned it. Oh, and it turns out I didn't get that job at the desk. That fucking sucks. I'll just have to start hunting around for a different job now. I'm going to stop by the library to pick up an application I think.

Have I mentioned that I'm excited about going horse back riding? Because I so am. Those horses are gorgeous. Please just let this week end. Oh, and I'm not going home for Easter, does that make me a bad person? I honestly have no interest in leaving 3 weeks before the semester is supposed to end. I'd be shocked if the family got together anyways. Well... I'm off to Spanish. Hasta luego chicos.

Today was a fun day, we had Pridefest because it is pride week up here. Good fun. I got three fish. I only named one, Pedro, because he's the smallest one. After the fest, Aaron, Ben & I went to Kaya for a bit. That was nice. Then we went back to my dorm so I could give them faux hawks. They turned out pretty sweet, except for the fact that Aaron has about 32 cowlicks. Then we went to dinner downstairs. Good times. Ben stayed and we took a whole bunch of pictures, which was fun. I felt like a photographer. That'd be an awesome job, if I do say so myself. Too bad. I'm pretty sure we went back to Kaya for a bit. Damn those Chai Tea Lattes, they get me everytime.

Hmm... I'm updating from a Mac right now... I kinda like the setup of it, it would take some uber getting used to, but I do sorta like it a little bit. It's interesting. Although, for some reason, I don't have all of my options for blogging, like I can't do hyperlinks and change the text... which is sad, I'll have to fix it later.

I got all pumped to watch Grey's Anatomy tonight, only for it to turn out to be a rerun. Gosh darn it. OH oh oh! So I found Degrassi: The Next Generation episodes on the internet to download, for free! I found it in google video. I was pumped. And there are episodes from the season that just started! Woot! Today was such a special day. First of all, it's Nana's Birthday (75), so happy birthday Nana. Second of all, today sucked. So I'm in my car today around 2:00, going to pick up Benjamin for lunch at Max & Emily's, anyways, I'm in the library lot, as it is really close to the music building. I'm not quite sure what happened, but I pulled out of that parking lot, heard a funny noise coming from my car, and then I drove to the nearest lot, which happened to be the one in between Barnes & the UC. I get out of my car in investigate the crime scene and guess what. My tire is comletely flat. So I drive it about 20 feet to a parking space and get out to survey the damage yet again, like it was going to change. Oddly enough, it did change. Now my tire was completely off the rim and just kinda chillin' in the wheel well area. Boy was I pissed, because I'm pretty sure that that was the tire that was just replaced and apparently the Discount Tire people don't know how to seal a tire correctly. That said and done, I called Phil and Aaron so they could come pick me up. Soon we had 5 people in the car on the way to Max & Emily's. We ate and it was delicious, then we walked around down town for a wee bit of time, stopping for a minute at Green Tree. Woot.

Ben and I went to Jenny's to hang out for a while, along with Dave & Jenny's sister, Jill. Nick was cutting something up on the floor for the entirety of our visit. Around 6:00, we went back to the car, this time with Dave, who knows stuff about cars. Good thing my car comes with a jack that wouldn't lift a kitten off the ground. Long story short, we called my insuarce company because I have free towing and such, and they came to change my tire for me. Phil showed up sometime in here. As they were pulling away, my car wouldn't start. I think I pissed off God. After an hour or two, my car took a charge and I drove it away into the sunset.

Later I went to a benefit concert and Vanessa was playing. It was pretty good. After that, Phil, Ben & I went over to the party at Kristen's house. I promptly killed my second assassins target, Robert Emigh. Sweet. We stayed for a little while, took some interesting photos, then we left. Good times.

The Drag Show was such a success. Wow. I'm pumped. So I went to Phil's today and got clothes... but he sorta dressed me... how can I say? He dressed me like a lesbian. There, I said it, now get out your pitchforks and slay me. So I got redressed by random men and it worked out. I also bought a Fedora from Target because it was uber clearanced. Too bad I couldn't wear it for the drag show. I finally decided that I'd just wear girl pants, since my rear end sorta makes any pair of boy pants look like girl pants anyways. Oh, and Fifty did a goutee for me... then she got her saliva on my face. Watch while I die, I hate saliva. I think it worked out well though. I'll be posting pictures later. Our show was totally off the hook. I think the audience liked our rendition of NSync. It was sweet.

I think the best part of the show was the "after party" at Shoney's. That place is absolutely disgusting, first of all, that's why I ordered exactly a Coke. This was like the "La Vie Boheme" scene out of RENT, it was amazing. I think I went to dinner with about 4 professional drag queens. Amazing. And one of them bitched out someone. Woot. That's the way life should be.

Now you may remove the peanut butter... gently

Ok, so after the shitty first part of the day, the rest was lovely. I went to Kaya Coffee & Tea Company for a little bit and had a Chai Tea Latte. Mmm Good. I've decided that that is the best coffee shop around, granted I've not been to the other ones, but this one is definitely my style. And they have wireless internet. Hello, I'm living there. Then I went to the GSA office and hung out with Ashley for a bit, then to the library (ok, we stood outside) with Jenny, Dave, Nick, Ben & eventually Phil. That was a bunch of fun. We went off to dinner and then I had to go to class. After Spanish, I went to the Kuhlavi computer lab and Jenny, Dave & I instant messaged each other for about 45 minutes, while sitting in a row. Then we went to the comedy show, featuring Jason Stuart. He was uber funny. Then a few of us from GSA & OTF went out to dinner with him and I ended up sitting across the table from him, which was a lot of fun, as he was a very funny man. Oh, and he's been on a million TV shows, like mother effing Will & Grace. That lasted for about 2 or 3 hours, before we finally had to leave Bennigan's. Now I'm back in my lovely room getting ready for a lovely sleep. Tomorrow should be good times, I have to go to Phil's around 1:00 to get some boy clothes for the drag show, then I have rehearsal @ 2:00. I'm pumped. Buenos noches chicos y chicas.

Cover me with peanut better and call me stupid

Ok, I officially hate myself and I want to die in a big gaping whole filled with peanut butter so that I have no chance to enjoy myself. I woke up late for my interview this morning. Holy hell, was I pissed off. I'm pretty sure that I'm not gonna get the deskie position now. And you want to know the stupid thing? I set my alarm for 9:30, so that I would have ample time to get ready. Too bad I set it for 9:30 pm... Anyways, I'm going to start putting out applications all over campus now. Shit. So yeah, great start to a mediocre day. I haven't done much else, really, just went to class and I'm going to Maplewood. Sweet.

I'm sad that I fail at life. I think I'm gonna go to the nursing home and play some cribbage now.

Have you ever gone to a movie, watched it all the way through, then felt completely unsatisfied when you were done? I just did. Although Watermelon Woman had potential, I was rather unimpressed with it. I liked the idea that it was a movie about making a documentary and that could have gone very far and been very interesting if it was pursued in the right direction. I think that it was going for a dramatic, unpolished look, however, it achieved a tacky result. I remember one quote that made me cringe, one of the characters was trying to get the other one to calm down, instead of saying "calm down" or "chill out," she said "Kool and the Gang." Please tell me, does anyone say that? Ever? Granted this film was made in the mid 90s, it tried to use slang that was completely demented. Oh, and not to sound like a bigoted douche bag, but I don't think that there were any straight characters in the film at all. Ok, go ahead and slap me next time you see me, but I'm serious, if the writer was trying to make a realistic film/documentary, then there should be a few token straight characters, as not every single person in the Philidelphia metro area is gay.

Although an interesting concept for a film would be to turn the tables and have straight people living in a heterophobic society instead of gay people living in a homophobic society. Maybe I'll write a book about it. Then I could sell it to a screen writer, who would try to woo me with delusions of grandeur and maybe buy me a new hybrid car, but I would have to seek out other options because I'm not going to sell myself to the first bidder. Then there would be a bidding war over my extraordinary novel and I would become rich. After that, the screenplay would sit in some dark, dirty room at Time Warner for a few years. Then miraculously one day, an intern would stumble upon it and give it to his or her boss, who would promote them and they would be payed large sums of money to produce my film. Then it would flop at the box office, but I would still make money on DVD sales because I'm awesome. I love delusions of grandeur.

You know what just popped into my head? Remember when they had those batteries, Duracell I think, and you could check how much power they had left by pressing your thumbs on the two little white dots? Where did they go? I loved those and I grabbed a battery today and tried to do that, however there were no dots or energy indicators, so I just looked kinda special.

I have to go to bed now, I have a big day tomorrow! At 10:15 a.m. (I know you're asking yourself how I will ever wake up for that) I have an interview for a Deskie position at the Larzy front desk. I'm pumped. Then I have class from 11:00 'til 2:00, then I'm at Maple wood until about 6:45, then la clase de espanol until 8:00, then I'm going to Phil's to raid his closet for the drag show. Wish me luck!

So, I have a little party in my head every time I get a new comment... it obviously doesn't take much to get me excited... anyways, moral of the story, leave me comments, tell me what you like, tell me what you hate, tell me about your day, tell me about someone elses day, I don't care, I just love comments. I'm done whining now, goodnight.

Adios futon...

Currently listening to: Michael by Franz Ferdinand

Family Trust by Amanda Brown ...I'm about halfway done now

I wish that I wasn't taking Community Health. It is by far the most boring class I have ever experienced. And I don't even need it now. Whatever, I can still get an A in it and it'll boost my GPA. Okay, so I think I have a sleeping problem. No matter what time I go to bed, I can't wake up before ten a.m., even if I've gone to sleep around midnight, I still can't wake up. Hmm. Well, I don't mind now, but it's gonna get to me when I start working at the Village again. You know, 5:30 mornings as opposed to 10:00... not my thing.

I've been listening to Pop by NSync almost all day long, I finally switched to some Franz Ferdinand and Fallout Boy before my brain started to fry from the excessive boy band music. I never got into the whole boy band thing. But when I was in middle school, I was listening to Elton John, Boy George, No Doubt, Joni Mitchell and various other musicians that my mom listened to.

So, I've recently found out that we have to have everything that takes two people to move, including carpet and such, out of our dorms 2 weekends before exams. How crappy is that? Now I have to talk mom & dad into coming up here to retrieve my futon. I'm pretty much going to give them everything I own and survive with only my computer, my electric kettle and a bowl. That's it. Ok... maybe a pencil or two. And some highlighters. So I'll keep my alarm clock and bike too. And some books. OK, I'm done. I don't like this kicking us out weeks before we have to leave thing. Not my bag, baby.

Maybe tonight I'll get some homework done before I have to practice for el drag show. Hmm... or I won't. Just not sure. I know I'm gonna get some Spanish done though, I just want to get that out of the way before the weekend, since I'll be practically living at Maplewood this weekend so as to get my hours finished. I'm still stuck around 40. Ugh. But if I do this right, I can get about 4 done inbetween classes tomorrow, about 5 on Friday before the show, 9 on Saturday and 9 on Sunday. Thats 27 hours, which leaves me with only 13 or so left. That's sweet, and it leaves me with only about 1 more weekend of torture. I mean sitting around Maplewood while the oldies sleep. Fun times.

Ok, time for my favorite class. Woot.

So I'm pretty sure I did something that I'm going to regret very soon. I was going to be late for Spanish this morning because I got up around 12:20, so I decided to ride my bike. Enter rain and snow. And to make matters worse, I decided to go to the SAC because I had an insane urge to run. Now I'm sick. Fucking A. ... I guess it's nothing a little chai tea and dad's chicken soup can't fix. Let me just say that I am getting so much use out of that little illegal electric kettle thing. I love it. I use it just about every day. Woot. Wow, I'm gulping down this tea like it's my job.

Ugh... I'm gonna go take a nice hot shower now.

The sheep are dancing in circles around my head instead of letting me count them...

I'm getting very angry, it's 3:27am and my brain will not shut off. I'm laying in bed trying to sleep and I've got nothing. And I'm cold as sin. I just put on a fleecie. Oh, I was reminded that my Community Health class is not meeting today, so that gives me about 3 hours of free time... I'll probably go to the SAC. I want to go to sleep. In my non sleep, I've come up with a few fun room layouts for the dorm next semester. Hmm... what the mind wraps itself around when I'm tired.

Maybe if I start thinking about gerontology, I'll lull myself into a deep sleep. Maybe.

Counter culture overload...

So, I really want to be selected for the free Conan O'Brien tickets. And I want to see the musical Wicked, now that I've read the amazing book. I think everyone should read that book, it puts an entirely different spin on The Wizard of Oz. I loved it. I might just read it again, you know, after I go back and read the entire Harry Potter series. I'm serious too, that's what's frightening.

Right now, I'm sitting at my desk and realizing how disorganized it is. I like to think that I'm a somewhat organized person. Except for my desk, that's where my inner crazy comes out, as Cat can probably attest to. It looks like a murder scene, minus the blood. There are about 5 different papers laying on it, a book or two, a few newspaper clippings, markers, scissors, 2 hair ties, 3 different CD cases, pictures, wires, a nail file, the sweet button that Cooper sent me, along with the Union Jack keychain and a coffee mug that I just drank chai tea out of. And you should see the inside of the desk. That's where my truly secret inner crazy person comes out. It's a tragedy really. Sometimes I get an idea about cleaning out my desk. Then I realize that I need each and every item in it for some reason. Eh, I'm ok with being mildly screwed.

This week I think I'm gonna have a counter culture overload. The international film festival is finally here, so I think I'm gonna go see 5 movies, that way I can split the cost of a 10 ticket pack with someone and save some cash. I've decided on: Watermelon Woman, Mardi Gras: Made In China, Good Night and Good Luck, Memoirs of a Geisha and My Summer of Love. Although there are a few others I'd like to see in there...

Ok, I think it's time to go to bed and read now. I'm out.

I signed up for 2 classes this summer @ Macomb. I decided to take the art class that I was gonna take, then I wasn't, then I was, then I couldn't get in, now I'm signed up for it. The other one is a 3 week political science course. Both of these non-related classes are going to satisfy some University Program classes that I have to take, so that's lovely. All together I'm paying $475 for 7 credit hours... which is about equal to taking 2 credit hours @ CMU. Woot. I'm pumped. Ok, I'm signing off. Laters.

I wanna watch The N

Currently watching: Six Feet Under
Currently reading: Mother Earth News - An organic/green lifestyle magazine

So, I've been burning DVD's for my parents like it's my job. But I get all the DVD-r's I could possibly use for it. Today I got Season 5 of Six Feet Under done. I'm pumped. I am totally in love with that show. I think the next project I'll do is
Sex & The City.

"If we get a girl, you better hope she's obese, I don't want no twelve year old hottie runnin' around Sunset Boulevard with her ass crack showing." - Keith from Six Feet Under, on adopting children

Today I went to the Rec to finalize my job for the summer and it looks like it's a go for being a counselor, as well as teaching ASL & possibly another language, yet to be determined. Heck yes. That's about 30 hours a week, give or take, plus my job at the Village. Oh, something shitty did happen today, my dad did my taxes & I barely get any money back. That's pretty sad. But something else balanced out the equation, I got my car all fixed up! Heck yes again. So now I've got it for the rest of the school year, even though I don't really plan on using it.

So back to teaching ASL this summer. I am so excited about that. I've already started coming up with a lesson plan for it. Woot. Obviously I can't get too involved, but I can do fun stuff with the kids, like finger spelling, introductions, questions, family, numbers & animals. I think that should be a good start, but for now, I don't know how long the class is going to run. Oh oh oh! I'm way to excited about this. I'm not sure what I'm going to do for another class, Kasy suggested French or Spanish, I think I'd definitely be more comfortable with French, as I am partially fluent in it. I'm not sure at all what the lesson plan will be for that class, but it should parallel the ASL class, since they're both language classes. Hmm. Well that's all I've got for now. Later.

HBO is killing me...

Today was nice, I got up quite leisurely at 10:15am and got all packed up to go home. Then I went to the music building to give Ben Phil's book, Geography Club. It was a pretty good book. Then I went to ASL & learned more about signing personalities. At 2:00, Cat's aunt picked us up to go home. We arrived home at about 5:00 and I went & got my check from work. $160 for 2 workdays. How sweet is that? I went back home & hung out with my parents for a few hours and we watched Six Feet Under. Around 8:00 I went out to World's Finest Custard with Scott & Dana from work. Fun times. We went on the swings and ate ice cream. Dana left & Scott and I stayed for another 20 minutes or so, laughing like idiots, as always.

So now I'm watching The Laramie Project right now. It's really sad. I don't wanna finish it. But I must. It's about the Matthew Sheppard murder case, which is unbelievably sad. I'm gonna finish the movie now. Tomorrow I think I'm gonna be burning dvds for my mum and go visit Kasy. Laters.
